Sarah Miller is an Insider Threat Researcher in the CERT Program at  Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) Software Engineering Institute (SEI). Sarah conducts research at the intersection of the behavioral sciences and technology, with a focus on developing mitigation strategies that can be applied to insider threat programs and protecting our Nation’s critical assets. Sarah has 10 years of experience in multidisplinary research, with work appearing in The Journal of College Counseling. Prior to joining the SEI as a graduate intern in 2015, Sarah served two terms with Public Allies Pittsburgh, an AmeriCorps program. In that capacity, she performed roles in outreach, recruitment, design, and research. Sarah graduated cum laude with a BA degree in English and Psychology from McDaniel College. She holds both a MA degree in Rhetoric and a MS degree in Information Security Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. A lifelong supporter of education and learning, she was involved in Remake Learning and Digital Corps in Pittsbugh. She is active in the information security community via her associations as a member of Infragard and the International Association of Privacy Professinoals (IAPP), and as a recipient of Women in Cyber Security (WiCyS) and Scholarships for Women Studying Information Security (SWSIS) scholarships.
